We’re looking forward to being in continued community with you all! xoxo, TBD Salon TBD Salon was a series of community-funded virtual studio visits that supported artists and arts organizers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In partnership with a series of artist-centered organizations, TBD Salon built community while supporting artists and arts organizers, creative practices, and critical connections during the uncertain time of 2020. All were welcome to attend our programs, and we invited folks who had the means to donate $10 per program to attend and support honorariums for the participants and program production. We built connections, hosted creative conversations, and raised funds for artists and arts organizers to ease the strain due to cancelled speaking engagements, postponed exhibitions, income loss, layoffs, and barred access from facilities. We recognized the multitude of connections happening virtually during the pandemic and celebrated this while building community and directly supporting artists and arts organizers. She is also the Development Manager at The Laundromat Project and has previously worked at Kickstarter and in curatorial and education departments at SculptureCenter, Creative Time, and The Wassaic Project. Her independent projects including Order My Steps at BKSD, Forget How to Read at EM Wolfman, and Martin Wong: Painting is Forbidden at the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art. Recent writing includes, On community, protest, and public space for The Creative Independent. She holds an MA in Curatorial Practice from the California College of the Arts and a BA in American Studies from The University of Sussex, Brighton. Addy Rabinovitch is an artist, arts administrator, and editor living and working in Long Beach, CA. She is interested in invisible systems and the sci-fi tropes of apocalypse and imitation. In 2015, she co-founded CTRL+SHFT Collective, a gallery and studio space in Oakland, CA for female-identifying and nonbinary artists. She currently works as managing editor and operations manager for Art Practical, an online arts media organization, and as project manager and editor for X Artists' Books (XAB), an LA-based publisher focused on thoughtful and artist-centered books. Her most recent editorial project with XAB is Oracular Transmissions, a playful re-presentation of three collaborative artworks by Etel Adnan and Lynn Marie Kirby. She has also worked on texts for the Wattis Institute and California College of the Arts. Rosana Liangis a visual artist and software engineer currently working at Vimeo. She has previously worked at Kickstarter and as a visual arts adjunct professor at The College of New Jersey. Liang’s practice utilizes the body, and its relation to technology, as a way of focusing on connection and interdependence. Her recent work engages with systems and rules as a framework for her performances. Liang is a MFA Photography and Related Media graduate from Parsons School of Design, The New School and holds BAs in Fine Art and Communication Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Liang was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Tanya Gayeris a curator and writer based in Oakland, CA. Her curatorial projects and research examine history-making processes embedded in archives, databases, governmental assimilation efforts, and algorithmic categorizations. She studies the records and stories involved with these institutions to realize the impact they have in forming identity and culture. Her curatorial projects have been exhibited at Root Division, Hubbell Street Galleries, Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, The Internet Archive, Gray Area, CTRL + SHFT, and Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art. She has been in residence at Wassaic Project, Picture Berlin, and Signal Culture. Her writing has been published in Daily Serving, and in exhibition catalogs associated with CULT Exhibitions, Embark Gallery, Holland Project, Pro Arts, and Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art. Gayer received her dual masters degree in Curatorial Practice and Visual + Critical Studies from California College of the Arts. She is currently the Exhibition Coordinator at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She has been awarded a Socrates Sculpture Park Emerging Artist Fellowship as well as grants by the Joan Mitchell Foundation, the Rema Hort Mann Foundation and the Nancy Graves Foundation. She received an MA in Visual &amp; Critical Studies from the California College of the Arts in 2016, and her BA in Art History and Women, Gender &amp; Sexuality Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2012. She specializes in representations of identity in fine art, photography, and popular media. Elena was formerly the creator and co-host of the arts &amp; visual culture podcast what are you looking at? published by Art Practical. Her research has been centered around conceptual and material abstractions of the body in the work of Black modern and contemporary artists. She has presented her writing and research at institutions and conferences across the U.S., including Nook Gallery, Southern Exposure, KADIST, Harvard College, YBCA, California College of the Arts, and the GLBT History Museum. In 2018, she collaborated with the artist Leila Weefur on the publication Between Beauty &amp; Horror (Sming Sming Books).
